Bedside conferences with the health care team, which includes a medical social worker.
ALS has become a chronic illness for an increasing number of people with the disease (pALS). Many times during the course of the disease, pALS may experience the need for acute care in hospitals where they encounter many staff members who are not familiar with care of pALS. This presentation by a nurse and two retired social workers attempts to provide information as erstwhile health care workers as well as recent and current family caregivers of pALS.
This presentation will provide 1hr continuing education credit to Queen’s SW department staff.
