Foodland’s Give Aloha Program Ends; ALSFH Thanks Donors

Foodland’s month-long Give Aloha 2018 Program has just ended.  The annual program usually begins and ends in September.  ALSFH joined the more than 300 other non-profits that have registered as recipients of this popular, local philanthropy of the Sullivan family.  The program promises to match each donor’s contribution up to $249. After all donations have been recorded, the Program, which pledges a total of $250,000 yearly, will give the individual non-profits all donations collected in its name.  The Program will…

Ewa Beach Site of First Volunteer-led Benefit Yard Sale This Saturday

  Shaun and Renee Brewer are hosting a yard sale fundraiser for ALSFH at their home in the Kapilina neighborhood of Ewa Beach THIS Saturday, September 29, 8am-12 noon. It is part of the neighborhood-wide Annual Sale.  Set-up will be at 7 am, Saturday, at the Brewer Residence at 5227 Iroquois Avenue in Ewa Beach. Drop-offs and pick-ups can be arranged with Divina Robillard, 256-3932.  All proceeds will benefit ALSFH. September 9, 2019, Kailua, HI.  Foodland and Western Union Foundation in Hawaii started its annual “Give Aloha” Program on September 1st to continue the legacy of founder, Maurice “Sully” Sullivan of giving back to the community.  Foodland gives more than $250,000 annually to non-profits that participate in the program. Robillard College Friends Pledge Matching Funds to Fundraising Event Total

Close to 50 friends and family celebrated Katherine O’Connor’s and Divina Telan Robillard’s August birthdays at Romano’s Macaroni Grill at Ala Moana Shopping Center.  The group was encouraged to participate due to RMG’s pledge to donate 20% of the bill upon presentation of an approved flier for either dine-in or take-out. ALSFH Surpasses $1000 Goal in FB Birthday Fundraiser in 48 Hours

August 25, 2018, Kailua, Hawaii.   Board of Director members, Katherine O’Connor and Divina Telan Robillard are celebrating their birthdays this month. Katherine’s birthday is August 26 and Divina, the 29th.  To celebrate their birth month, both BOD members created fundraisers on Facebook.  Divina’s Facebook fundraiser goal of $1000 was surpassed within 48 hours.  Eighteen FB friends donated directly to the fundraiser which continues for one more week. Amateur Writers Convene for Book Project

August 7, 2018, Honolulu, Hawaii. A group of amateur writers started meeting with UH Professor Emeritus Virgie Chattergy to develop a book focusing on experiences living with ALS.  As of this writing, group membership consists of Ronaele Whittington, Justin Hendrix, Rita Melville Alarcon, Catherine Sophian, Alexa-Rae Telan, and Divina Telan Robillard.
